An educational, sheltering, national, long-standing institution, established to be a beacon of knowledge, education, and shelter in the heart of Jerusalem in the year 1965, specifically in the town of Abu Dis, only three kilometers away from the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, so that the Institute would become one of the leading educational institutions at the local academic level, distinguished by a good reputation and a respected standing in the educational field, and aiming for advanced quality education that strengthens values, belonging, and Palestinian identity.
The Institute provides its educational and pedagogical services for the basic and secondary stages, relying on modern curricula and advanced teaching methods, under the supervision of an elite of competent teachers and experienced administrators. The role of the Institute is not limited to the academic side only, but extends to the care of marginalized and deprived groups, as it hosts students from orphans, children of martyrs, prisoners, and special social cases, who make up about 20% of its total students, numbering around 650 students.
The Institute is keen to provide a comprehensive educational and caring environment for these students, including boarding, clothing, and daily nutrition, along with health, psychological, and social care, within a comprehensive vision aimed at building a balanced and capable personality.
The administration of the Institute is under the direct supervision of the Board of Trustees of the Arab Institute – Jerusalem, which sets the general policies and directs the educational path, and the Institute also receives support and follow-up from the Friends of the Arab Institute Association in the Jordanian capital, Amman, which undertakes securing the financial resources necessary for the operation of the institution and meeting its various needs.
The Institute is currently managed by Dr. Moien Emoor, who leads the institution with a clear educational and humanitarian vision that strengthens its pioneering role in serving the Jerusalemite community and contributes to the steadfastness of Palestinian education in the face of attempts at Israelization and erasure.
