Iqra Center for Qur’an Memorization
The Iqra Center for Qur’an Memorization was established at the Arab Institute School in the year (1996/1997). The center is supervised by a team of teachers from the Arab Institute with various specialties that suit the Center’s goals in building a student with a well-rounded personality.
The Center’s Mission
- Guiding the young generation to the teachings of the Holy Qur’an so that they may draw from it what benefits their life and builds their Hereafter.
- Raising awareness among the young generation about the dangers surrounding them that aim to detach them from their religion and morals, by distancing them from their Qur’an and the Sunnah of their Messenger (peace be upon him).
Highlights of the Center’s Achievements
- Students of the “Iqra” Center won the first three places at the level of the Jerusalem Directorate.
- Participation in an international training course for Qur’an teaching in Jordan, and supervisors of the “Iqra” Center obtained the international license for Qur’an teaching.
- Organizing a summer camp for the Center’s students during the summer vacation, and for the newly admitted students at the Institute.
- Organizing a competition in memorizing Surah “Yaseen” for the new students.
- Organizing a competition in memorizing Surah Al-Kahf for the students of the Arab Institute.
- Distributing a unified uniform for the students enrolled in the Center.
- Distributing school bags to the students participating in the summer camp.
- Organizing an event to welcome the new students.
- Organizing an event to celebrate the Prophet’s Birthday (Al-Mawlid Al-Nabawi).
- Organizing a winter camp during the mid-year vacation.
- Distributing a prayer time calendar (Imsakiyya) for the blessed month of Ramadan.
- Holding a collective Iftar for the students during the blessed month of Ramadan.
- The Center continues to hold Saturday activities every week.
- Qur’an lessons, recreational activities, and a break for breakfast.
- Holding awareness, preaching, and educational lectures for the Center’s students.
